JD's good buddy Ian came for a visit to see his little brother graduate. He stayed with us and is expecting his first in October. He is one of JD's bestest buds from elementary school. The other, Sage, had his baby right after ours. Kind of funny that the 3 amigos all were expecting their first at the same time!
Faith's first encounter with solids! She didn't know quite what to think of it, and I couldn't feed her and snap pictures of her reaction fast enough. This has been our only attempt so far. I don't know if she's quite ready for solids yet- or maybe it's that I'm not ready yet1
I love this kid's feet! She likes to stick her legs ramrod straight over the edge of the bassinet.
Faith and two of her loves: the bath and her tongue!
Thinkin' they want to see more pictures and stuff. Well, ok. If you insist. But first, a video:
She KILLS me!!!
Aunt Marlene and Uncle Loren came for First Lady's Luncheon. Marlene cuddling Faith while Mark gets in what he can.
Holding Mark's finger
When JD and I went shopping for baby clothes, JD picked these pants out. They are a hoot! They are made out of a spandex-like material but look like skinny low riding jeans. Hilarious!
Got them apple-bottom jeans. And the boots with a fur (With a fur!)
This is the only way I can get the kid to do tummy time. She loves to look at herself!
JD caught this one
The other day JD got the pictures off of his phone he took when Faith was born. This is when I was putting on her outfit to go home. By the time we got this far, we had packed up the camera. So JD got these shots.
I made these booties for her.
She can't even fit her big toe in this outfit now!
Umm....pardon me while I shamelessly brag. I can't help it. It was so ridiculously cool...
My mother-in-law is a member of the Congressional Club which is a bipartisan organization made up of all of the wives of past and present members of Congress. Each year they host the First Lady at a luncheon and I got to go again this year! Our seats were great.
This is the symbol/logo for the Congressional Club, which was projected onto the ceiling of the ballroom.
The table was beautiful- very classy. The theme this year was the 100th First Lady's Luncheon. I didn't snap a picture of the gift bag, but I did of the contents later on in the post.
The president's military band played the music for the event. We walked in to the music of Wicked.

This is my niece Lindsey. She was one of the Junior Hostesses. She gets her picture taken with Michelle Obama and helps with some of the take down.
Nancy Pelossi's husband. Only man there. Don't know why.
You can see Mrs. Obama standing to the left of the camera man. Don't worry- I got a much better video later.
I was particularly touched by the presentation of the flag. Our military has done so much for our country.
During the First Lady's speech
The entertainment was Lee Ann Womack
I was so close I could have easily touched her.
Couldn't help but snap a picture outside of the hotel. This is where Reagan was shot.
This is the contents of the gift bag. The purse is super cute. It is gold inside and has the Congressional Club logo all over it. We got an apron, Texas chili fixin's, wildflower seeds, CHI hair serum, and a beautiful pin.
The pin is a limited edition pin and was given on a strand of pearls to Michelle Obama. Kind of a fun thought that I have a piece of jewelry that she has!
This video shows how close we were to LeeAnn Womack.
I Hope You Dance

I'm not supposed to have this picture, but I didn't know that until after I took it. Yesterday, I went to the Ambassador's Wives' Luncheon hosted by the Church and put on by my mother-in-law. It was held at Donna Marriott's home. I wasn't supposed to take pictures of the home and forgot to take pictures of the event. But this is one of her sitting rooms. The luncheon was held in her ballroom. Yeah, she has a ballroom in her house. With clouds painted on the ceiling. And a large and amazing chandelier. It was so much fun to be there.
My MIL did such a great job and I could feel the importance of this work. It's the Lord's work. It's so important for these countries to know who we are because it's how we get our missionaries to bring the gospel to all the world. Amazing!
Her chubby legs in those zebra leg warmers KILL me!
Oh no...Faith is riveted on Sports Center. I may be the minority here.
"Mom. Stop taking pictures of me and FEED me!"
This is the little Easter dress I made her. It took a little while to get these pictures because on Easter, she threw up all over before I could snap any. And then the next Sunday is was raining and I wanted the pictures taken outside. And THEN, she came down with a frightening cold.
This is the first time I've taken her outside where she was so aware of her surroundings. She discovered trees!
