Faith Eats Solids
I should be working on the Nauvoo post, but couldn't resist squeaking these in.
Blurry- maybe I'll get decent enough with the camera to figure this kind of shot out (it was dark and the Faith's face was lit up by JD's phone).
And on to the main event- sweet potatoes!
The problem with taking pictures of Faith is that she is so facinated with the camera that action shots are hard to get.
Yum!!

Santini Vaca
This summer we trekked out to Nauvoo for a week. Nauvoo, Illinois is where the Mormon pioneers settled before they were driven out west. The church has turned the site into a Williamsburg on steroids. It is so much fun and family friendly. I seriously think that anyone, including those not of our faith, would enjoy it. And for those of our faith- it houses some very special history.
But on our way we made a stop in Springfield- home of Abraham Lincoln. JD is a mega Lincoln fan, so we had to stop and make a day of it.

Springfield has a Lincoln museum created by the same designer who did Disneyland. The wax characters throughout were unbelievable. They were sculpted with such emotion.

The volunteers here had such awesome costumes.
Here is where he gave his speech that included "a house divided cannot stand." The top hat represents where he sat.
Outside of the building
Frank Lloyd Wright has a building in the area, so we had to take a look-see.

Good times
